Aerotesting with our Aerfast3 and Fascenario.3

The Aerfast3 was born to be fast. Stiff and light, but also comfortable and particularly aerodynamic. To once again determine for ourselves how aerodynamic our bike is, we were together with our partner SwissSide in the wind tunnel. The wheels that we have tested on our Aerfast3 are from DT Swiss and were developed in all aerodynamic aspects of SwissSide. Our bicycle we have thereby tested in several variants. 3 set-ups with and without bottle and always with the same tire on the front wheel, so as not to falsify the values.

The result: Our frame is very fast. No matter what wheels you have, the Aerfast lives up to its name. But you can get even faster with better wheels. From the entry-level DT Swiss wheels P 1800 23 mm to the latest Aero-Wheels ARC1100 dicut 62 mm you can save 9.6 watts! In between is then our own aero wheelset from DT Swiss, the ARC1600 Storck Edition, also with 62mm. Here you save 5.1 watts and also ensures a strong price-performance ratio!

Also with the water bottles there is still need for optimization: A 750 ml bottle in the bottle cage on the down tube means a loss of 3.5 watts, with an aero bottle you lose only 0.8 watts. So without bottles you are fastest. If you want to be absolutely aerodynamic, choose an aero bottle or do without drinking at all, saves weight... ;)

Our Fascenario.3 also had to face the wind tunnel. The Tour magazine tested our bike. In the standard configuration with our ARC 1600 Storck Edition wheels it secures the test victory. The result: 226 watts. This makes it the fastest production bike in the test. Wheel tuning from the factory!
