- The Bundesliga team from the 2022 season is taking the step into professional cycling in 2023.

Last Friday, 24.02.23 STORCK Bicycle celebrated the team presentation of Team Storck - Metropol Cycling at the company headquarters in Idstein, officially announcing the main sponsorship. The team was already materially supported by the manufacturer of high-end carbon road bikes in the 2022 season under the name "Hanau Storck". In the 2023 season, the team is now venturing into the professional arena and redeems a UCI license. In the third highest professional category "KT", the riders are represented in international races and tours. The team has already received an invitation to "Rund um Köln" and "Eschborn Frankfurt", two of the biggest and most traditional German UCI one-day races, where the riders duel on a par with the world's best.

Team Hanau Storck still raced in the German Cycling League in the 2022 season, as did Team Wheelsports Metropol. The reason for the merger of the two teams, according to Hannes Walter, performance manager of the new team, was the
common goal of making the leap to the professional level. The teams' focus was already on participating in UCI tours last year. Experienced athletes were taken on from both teams, including Michael Weyer, an employee of the STORCK Store Wertheim. With some U23 riders, however, the focus is on promoting young talent. The team wants to further develop young talents and offer them a platform for further advancement. The squad is completed by two new athletes who already have KT experience. As one of nine German continental teams, Team Storck - Metropol Cycling will start the season with 16 riders. The first appearance will be at the Tour of Rhodes in early March.

Hannes Walter promotes the individual riders individually and has been dealing intensively with the topic of aerodynamics for years. "With STORCK we have a very good partner who makes my heart beat faster with his racing machine. We have already tested the aero values on the track and are super satisfied with the Aerfast.4," he praises the high-quality material. The fast Aerfast.4 was produced exclusively for the team in the "Vulcanic Sunset" fade design. As one of the fastest racing bikes in the world, it is the perfect choice for racing with its fork and handlebar stem unit that has already been competition-tested and optimized in the wind tunnel.

STORCK also supports the British cycling team of superbike star Scott Redding, the Austrian triathlon team pewag and several individual athletes in the professional sector. Although Team Storck - Metropol Cycling is pursuing international goals, STORCK is also returning to regional sponsorship with its latest commitment, as the professional team is based in Hanau, Hesse. Already in 2009, STORCK was the main sponsor of the Hessian teams Hansen Werbetechnik-VC Frankfurt and the RV Sossenheim.
